Keychron just released their wireless trackball globally. The Nape Pro sits right under your spacebar so your thumb does the scrolling and you never have to leave the keyboard.
What it is:
- Rectangular, low-profile trackball designed to sit under the spacebar
- 6 customizable buttons + a control dial
- ZMK firmware (open source, remappable like Keychron boards)

Backstory: This was co-developed with Gizmodo Japan (via their GIZMART store) and was originally Japan-only. It hit ¥100 million (~$700K) in sales within 12 hours of its first drop, won “Best Mouse” at CES 2026, and now it’s getting a global launch.
The twist: It was initially estimated to cost ~$130 but actually launched at $89.99, so it came in cheaper than expected.
The idea: Instead of reaching for a mouse or moving your hand off the keyboard, your thumb rests on the trackball right below the spacebar. It’s an ergonomic “never leave your keyboard” device for people who live in shortcuts and text editors.
If you run a split keyboard or an ergo setup, this is basically the ultimate companion piece. It slides right in between the two halves so your thumb can reach the ball without moving your hand at all. Combined with layers, macros, and mouse keys, it completes the whole hands-on-keyboard workflow.
