Saw this one today and it’s wild. EMO claims their Altar II is the world’s thinnest production mechanical keyboard at just 4.75mm thick.
To put that in perspective:
- Apple Magic Keyboard: 10.09mm
- NuPhy Air75: 21mm
- Altar II: 4.75mm
That’s thinner than most closed laptops. It’s CNC machined from a single block of aluminum, and the trick is a custom switch with a sideways retention spring instead of a vertical one, which is what lets them get the profile so low.
